While many of us will enjoy LOTS of snacks during the Super Bowl, millions of Americans face hunger every day. In 2023, 13.5% of U.S. households—around 18 million families—experienced food insecurity, the highest level in nearly a decade. And right here in Edmond, some of our neighbors are on the sidelines, struggling to put food on the table.

At First Christian Church Edmond, we’re huddling up as a team to turn this day of abundant food consumption into a chance to tackle hunger in our community through the Souper Bowl of Caring!

How You Can Help:

🏈 Donate to our Souper Bowl of Caring Cause of Choice: On Super Bowl Sunday, we’ll take a special offering for Breakfast on Boulevard (BOB), our weekday breakfast and sack lunch program that provides nourishment and connection for neighbors in need. Members of the Cornerstone Sunday School class are the MVPs and will be positioned at the doors with Soup Pots where you can drop extra dollars for the cause!

🏈 Donate Non-Perishable Food Items: All through February we are restocking the pantry for Ida Freeman Weekend food. Get more details in the bring tuna, chicken, green beans, corn, and chicken-flavored rice pouches to the Help People Thrive bin in our church lobby. Your donations will help restock our pantry and support our weekend food program for Ida Freeman Elementary students.

Let’s work together to score a touchdown against hunger—because all of God's people should have the food they need to thrive.
